Grafters Boots & Shoes: The Cadet's Choice

Remembrance Sunday takes place each year on the second Sunday in November, which is the closest to November 11th: this is to mark the anniversary of Armistice Day. This year, Remembrance Sunday takes place on the 12th of November. It is a day set aside to commemorate the contributions of the military and civilian men and women who gave their service, and often their lives, in both World Wars as well as later conflicts.
Ceremonies of Remembrance take place all over the UK but the National Ceremony takes place at the Cenotaph, located on Whitehall in London. The ceremony begins at 11am with the observation of two minutes of silence, after which wreaths are laid by members of the Royal Family and sundry dignitaries. After prayers have been said and hymns sung, the Nation's Thank You procession begins. The procession, which is organised by the Royal British Legion, includes thousands of servicemen and women from many different groups, who together march past the Cenotaph and salute it.
